Full summary:
- August 24: Emily Briggs, given amazing psychic powers as well as great beauty, is controlled by Tamira. But Mardo uses the pre-programmed word “Looker” to cause Emily to fall under his control and overcomes Tamira's forces and kills her, proclaiming himself King Mardo the First, with Emily as his queen. Reaching the surface, Emily uses her powers to bring Halley's Comet crashing to Earth as part of Mardo's plan to kill off the surface world and bide his time until his forces can conquer the weakened Earth. All over the world, panic ensues as Halley's Comet changes course and speeds up to strike Earth soon. Emily suddenly breaks free of Mardo's mind-control and frees the Outsiders. Together, they defeat the Abyssians and Katana kills Mardo, while Emily puts Halley's Comet back in its natural course. While the people of Abyssia want Emily to remain as their queen, she asks them to choose their own leaders and suggests Jonelle and Dural as good choices. Emily chooses to retain her powers as Looker. Emily surprises her husband Greg with her new looks.
