Summary

  • John Smith (Red Tornado) is enjoying an episode of Space Trek: The New Generation, while Kathy Sutton disapproves of the show. Investigating a scream, Red Tornado finds a man with a burn mark where skin is melting away and discovers its cause: a 13-year-old boy named Scott, whose mutant power to burn flesh was suddenly activated, hurting his friend and causing him to flee.   • That night, as John Smith and Kathy Sutton watch coverage of Red Tornado's case on the late night news, John explains that Scott's mother showed up and proved to be immune to his power, and he brought them both up to the JLA satellite, where the boy was examined and found to be a mutant.
