Justice League of America: Between Sea and Sky

February: Korge, god of rage, attacks and defeats Superman, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter (J'onn J'onzz), and Wonder Woman II. The rest of the JLA, strategizing the rescue of the four JLAers, learn that the Martians led by the Marshal are invading again, now with the help of the Atlanteans under Narkran. The Martian fleet attacks Australia and Europe first, leaving North America alone for now. Batman, Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Nightwing defeat Korge using super-power pills invented by Jor-El and rescue the defeated JLAers. Aquaman and a group of heroes defeat Narkran and a group of villains in Atlantis. Finally, J'onn J'onzz defeats the Marshal in single combat, putting an end to the invasion. JLA members: Aquaman, Batman, Black Canary, Elongated Man, the Flash II, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Martian Manhunter, Superman, Wonder Woman II, Zatanna Zatara. Villains: Black Manta, the Creature King, Dagon, the Fisherman, Korge (god of rage), the Marine Marauder, the Marshal (of New Mars; real name revealed to be C'yk Eda), Narkran (as leader of the New Atlantean Front), the Scavenger. • February: At the Secret Sanctuary, Superman and Hawkman are discussing repairs of the JLA satellite (after the Despero case) as Elongated Man listens, when the Martian Manhunter (J'onn J'onzz) and Wonder Woman II arrive after a battle with the Royal Flush Gang in Denver. Suddenly, Korge (god of rage from New Mars) crashes into the Secret Sanctuary and defeats each JLAer by exploiting their weaknesses, letting only Elongated Man go to bring the rest of the JLA within six hours, or Korge will kill the ones he defeated. Elongated Man alerts the JLA. Meanwhile, Narkran and the Marshal of New Mars using Korge as a pawn discuss conquering and dividing the world between them. • At the Batcave, Batman and other JLAers – Aquaman, Black Canary, Elongated Man, the Flash II, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Zatanna Zatara – discuss strategies to defeat Korge. At the Secret Sanctuary, Martian Manhunter is horrified to learn that the Martians intentionally released Korge from his prison on New Mars. At the Batcave, Aquaman is horrified to learn that his old foe Narkran and the New Atlantean Front have overtaken Atlantis and are collaborating with the Martians led by the Marshal of New Mars to invade and conquer Earth. • Green Lantern leaves to fight the Martian fleet. Aquaman explains who Narkran is. The Marshal and Narkran coordinate their invasion plans. Green Lantern tells Batman he failed to repel the Martians because their fleet was painted yellow. The JLA alerts the U.S. President and the United Nations about the impending invasion. Lana Lang, having regained her job at WGBS, reports on the invasion of Earth by the Martians, with assistance of the Atlanteans. The invasion focuses on Australia and Europe, leaving the Americas untouched as yet. In Australia, the invasion is fought by the Tasmanian Devil, Ultraa, and the visiting Blue Devil. In England, Godiva, the Knight and the Squire, the Bowman of Britain, Lionheart, and the Beefeater battle the invasion. The first casualty of the invasion is the Phantom of France. • Narkran and the Marshal discuss the invasion. At the Secret Sanctuary, Wonder Woman II pleads for Korge to remove the kryptonite from the presence of Superman, who is suffering kryptonite poisoning. Batman arrives with Green Arrow, Black Canary, and Nightwing to battle Korge. After Korge assesses their weaknesses, the four non-powered heroes ingest super-power pills (invented by Jor-El and once used by Elton Craig) temporarily giving them Kryptonian powers and defeat Korge. • Aquaman arrives to challenge Narkran, but Black Manta, the Fisherman, Dagon, the Marine Marauder, the Scavenger, and the Creature King appear to battle for Narkran. Aquaman's allies Metamorpho, Mera, the Metal Men, Animal Man, the Sea Devils, and Green Lantern arrive to aid him. The heroes triumph over the villains and oust Narkran from the throne of Atlantis. While Superman is recovering from kryptonite poisoning under an Amazon purple healing ray, Aquaman communicates first with Batman and then with the Marshal, challenging him to fight one-on-one with a JLAer in Death Valley, California. In Death Valley, Martian Manhunter (J'onn J'onzz) meets with the Marshal, who explains that his father was the disgraced general Re's Eda (whom J'onn once had arrested for trying to start a war and who committed suicide), and his name is really C'yk Eda. The two battle, and J'onn defeats the Marshal, who begs for mercy. The Martians, disgusted by their leader's shameful defeat, return to New Mars, while it is revealed that Deadman possessed the Marshal's body at the end.
