Superman: Kryptonite City

Summary

January, 1986: Superman and the Green Lantern Corps of Earth are busy getting rid of the last of the kryptonite dust in Metropolis as well as the millions of Kryptonian corpses from Argo City. Clark Kent (Superman) quits his job at WGBS and becomes a freelance journalist at the Daily Planet. Jeff Richardson of Nomed Ventures (secretly an agent of Ra's al Ghul) asks Perry White's advice on buying the newspaper. As the U.S. Army transports large amounts of kryptonite to a secure facility, three villains working independently (Lex Luthor, Kobra, and Ra's al Ghul) attempt to intercept it en route, but only Luthor succeeds. During the next shipment, Ra's al Ghul succeeds. Kobra learns Luthor stole the first shipment and attacks his compound on Black Island, but Luthor strands Kobra in the L-Zone and masquerades as Kobra himself. As Kobra, Luthor and Ra's al Ghul combine their forces in a plan to turn Metropolis into kryptonite. Secret agent Cory Renwald warns the government about Kobra's plans. When the villains' forces attack Metropolis, Superman and Prof. Bolden, with Firestorm's help, nullify the kryptonite transformation and free Metropolis of all kryptonite. Superman and the Green Lantern Corps defeat Kobra's forces and capture Luthor. Meanwhile, in the L-Zone, Kobra discovers Angela Blake and Luthor's discarded equipment and uses it to return to the real world. [“Superman: Kryptonite City”]
