Tom learns from Green Lantern that Guy Gardner has joined the Conglomerate and that Green Lantern will join the Ferris employees after the JLA's press conference. Tom watches the JLA press conference and afterward meets Hal Jordan at Ferris Aircraft, where owner Carl Ferris announces that he is resuming its leadership and that Ferris Aircraft is now controlled by Con-Trol. Despite Carl's wanting to fire him, Hal retains his test pilot job at Ferris thanks to Mr. Smith of Con-Trol. The next day, he discovers that an obscure old foe called the Dazzler is behind the robbery and arrests him. ["Green Lantern: The Play's the Thing, Chapter 1-2"] ==== Full summary ==== * February 14, 1986: Writing in the Green Lantern Casebook, Tom Kalmaku relates a case that happens shortly after the Martian-Atlantean invasion. After capturing two armed robbers, Green Lantern is asked by a Coast City police officer to keep an eye on the newly restored Grandin Theatre, where Hamlet is playing on its opening night. Green Lantern attends the play as Hal Jordan and notes that Daphne Dean (childhood friend of Barry Allen) is amongst the actors. When two costumed criminals -- a man and a woman -- rob the box office, Green Lantern fails to stop them but suspects Daphne and another actor named Reginald Delvine of being the criminals. ["Green Lantern: The Play's the Thing, Chapter 1: Smoking Mirrors"] * February 15: The next day, Hal learns that Dr. Hoshi Kimiyo (Doctor Light II) has agreed to help Tom with a new light-based jet engine. Green Lantern uses his power ring to recall where he once saw the familiar face of actor Baldwin Gray. That evening, Green Lantern arrives at the Grandin Theatre and arrests Daphne and Delvine for the box office robbery, resulting in Baldwin taking the play's lead role as Hamlet. Green Lantern then records a confession by Baldwin, who is really Ken Baldwin, an obscure old foe called the Dazzler. Using his powers, the Dazzler had created costumed duplicates of Daphne and Delvine and used them to frame them for the robbery. Green Lantern arrests the Dazzler.
